App: ChartWise (Android & iOS)
Developer / Data controller: ChartWise
Contact: seolasoft@gmail.com
ChartWise is an educational and entertainment game about market history and chart
literacy. This policy explains what data the app handles, why, and the choices you
have. ChartWise is for education and entertainment only and is not investment advice.
1. Summary
Your game data stays on your device. Progress, streaks, scores, statistics, and
settings are stored locally on your phone and are not transmitted to our servers.
We do not operate a user account system and do not collect your game data.
The app shows ads (Google AdMob) and uses analytics (Google Firebase Analytics).
These third‑party SDKs may collect limited device and usage data as described below.
Analytics runs only after you consent, and can be turned off at any time in
Settings → Analytics.
ChartWise is not directed to children (see Section 8).
2. Data stored on your device (not collected by us)
The following are saved only in the app's local storage on your device and never sent to us:
Quiz progress per question (times seen, times correct, last seen).
Session statistics, scores, longest combo, and accuracy.
Daily Challenge results and participation streak.
App settings (reminder on/off and time, language, analytics opt‑in/out, onboarding state)
and consent status.
Uninstalling the app deletes this local data. Because it never leaves your device, we
cannot access, export, or delete it for you.
3. Data collected by third‑party SDKs
We integrate the following third parties. Each acts under its own privacy policy.
3.1 Google AdMob (advertising)
Purpose: to display banner, interstitial, rewarded, and native ads, which are how
the app is funded (there are no in‑app purchases or subscriptions).
Data typically processed by the ad SDK: device identifiers (including advertising
ID where permitted), coarse/approximate location inferred from IP, device and network
information, and ad interaction events.
Personalized vs. non‑personalized ads: governed by your consent choice (Section 5).
Without consent, the app requests non‑personalized ads (NPA) only.
Google AdMob privacy: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543 and
https://policies.google.com/privacy
3.2 Google Firebase Analytics (usage analytics)
Purpose: to understand aggregate, anonymous product usage (e.g., rounds played,
sessions, daily‑challenge participation) so we can improve the app.
Data typically processed: app instance identifiers, device/OS information, and
in‑app event parameters (for example: pillar, difficulty, correct/incorrect, hint used,
session length, ad placement shown). We do not use this to identify you personally.
Consent‑gated: analytics events are collected only when analytics is enabled.
When disabled, collection is turned off.
3.3 Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) & Apple ATT
UMP presents the consent form (where required, e.g., EEA/UK) covering advertising and
analytics purposes. Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt (iOS) asks for
permission to use the advertising identifier for tracking.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Why we process this data (legal bases)
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases are:
- Consent — for personalized advertising, analytics, and (iOS) use of the advertising
identifier for tracking. You may withdraw consent at any time (Section 5).
- Legitimate interests / contractual necessity — for showing non‑personalized ads that
keep the app free and for the app to function.
5. Your choices and how to withdraw consent
Analytics toggle: Settings → Analytics. Turning it off stops analytics collection.
Consent (GDPR regions): the UMP consent form is shown on first launch after
onboarding; you can change your choice later via the in‑app privacy/consent option.
iOS tracking (ATT): manage under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, or
respond to the in‑app ATT prompt. Declining limits use of the advertising identifier and
results in non‑personalized ads.
Advertising ID reset/opt‑out: Android → Settings → Google → Ads; iOS → Settings →
Privacy & Security → Tracking / Apple Advertising.
6. Data sharing
We do not share game data because we do not collect it. The third‑party SDKs above process
data as independent controllers/processors under their own policies for the purposes
described. We may disclose information if required by law.
7. Data retention
On‑device data persists until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Data processed by AdMob and Firebase is retained per Google's policies and your
Firebase/AdMob configuration.
8. Children
ChartWise is not directed to children and is intended for a general audience of
teens and adults interested in markets and charts. We do not knowingly collect personal
information from children. Store age rating is set accordingly (financial/educational
content, not gambling — see review notes). If you believe a child has provided personal
information, contact us at the address above.
9. International users
The third‑party providers may process data in countries other than yours, including the
United States, under their respective safeguards and privacy frameworks.
10. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR/UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to
access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data, and to withdraw consent.
Because we do not hold identifiable user data ourselves, most requests concerning ad/analytics
data should also be directed to Google. To reach us, use the contact email above.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date
and, where appropriate, in‑app notice.
